Detroit Green Spaces
Publication Design
Detroit Green Spaces is a publication that highlights the growing movement of urban farming and green space implementation efforts in Detroit. Additionally, the booklet provides information on developing and caring for your own green space. The goal of this design piece was to identify an issue and develop a solution that can bring awareness to Detroit community members. The issue I chose to address was blight throughout Detroit neighborhoods. The broad solution was creating a way to
communicating the idea of empowering residents to develop blighted spaces.
An interesting take-away from this project was the level of research and content development necessary to communicate the solution. Content ranged from city statistics to actual guides for building a functional garden. Properly communicating data an various garden blueprints into a cohesive visual guide was a unique challenge to take on.
